Artificial Sweeteners used in mass market foods are gaining popularity as consumers are realizing the deleterious side effects of sugar. But while reducing sugar content is beneficial, the introduction of such chemicals in growing amounts in the human body may prove problematic. Consumer polling data shows that the public's perceptions about artificial sweeteners are growing more negative.

Reports of side effects from the chemicals found in artificial sweeteners such as aspartame (Equal), sucralose (Splenda), Saccharin (Sweet n Low), and acesulfame potassium (Sweet One) are an ever increasing reality.

There is currently no existing all-natural alternative sweetener in the marketplace that fills the need that Sweet Sense does. Until now, manufacturers have been forced to resort to the use of artificial sweeteners and/or polyols for their sugar free products.

Sweet Sense is a low glycemic sweetener. The glycemic index (GI) is a method of measuring blood sugar levels in regards to carbohydrate consumption. It not only measures how much your blood sugar level increases, but also how quickly. Foods containing carbohydrates are measured on a scale of 1 to 100, giving each food its own glycemic index value.

Sweeteners such as sucrose, glucose, high fructose corn syrup, etc possess a high glycemic index rating, give a fast burst of energy, then leave a person feeling hungry and lethargic a short time later. Unhealthy blood sugar levels from these high glycemic sugars are the main cause for cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

Sweet Sense with its low glycemic index rating stabilizes blood sugar giving a longer feeling of being full and providing longer-lasting energy.

The glycemic index is an important tool used in treating people with diabetes and in weight loss programs. For the diabetic, the traditional way of controlling blood sugar has been through counting carbohydrates. Since the inception of the glycemic index, endocrinologists have determined that not all carbohydrates are alike. Sweeteners such as Sweet Sense that contain low glycemic indices are the best choice for diabetics.

Make your foods healthful with Sweet Sense, the sensible sweetner.
